Tricia Buchanan-Benson

Determined to learn how to be an animator, Tricia began her journey at the age of 11 by writing to the Walt Disney Studios asking how to reach her goal. Disney, always interested in nurturing young artists, sent her back a pamphlet with full details on how to enter into the world of animation. Information in hand, she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis in Film.

Tricia went on to work on many long running and beloved animated series such as King of the Hill, The Simpsons and Futurama.

From her studio in Los Angeles, Tricia creates art for several different licensed properties including Disney, Lucasfilm and Chuck Jones.

 
 

Tricia is known for her ability to express the true emotions of the subjects she paints.

 
 
 

Media and influences

Tricia works in a variety media, such as acrylic, watercolor and digital, and is influenced by animation greats, such as Chuck Jones and Marc Davis, as well as the Art Nouveau movement and impressionism. She is known for her skill of capturing the true emotions of every subject she paints. Her art has been on display at theme parks and galleries worldwide.

Education

Tricia has a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Film from Loyola Marymount University.
